I agree the Kindle shouldn't...Great post, Alex. I agree the Kindle shouldn't be subject to the same 'upgrade frenzy' that affects smartphones. Having said that, since Kindles aren't as universal as mobile phones, I suppose it makes sense for newer shinier models to be coming out, to entice the public into giving e-readers a try. I hope that happens, but like you, I'm not tempted to upgrade my Kindle 4 just yet! But unlike mobile phones, there are still plenty of people who don't own an e-reader, so I suppose there is logic in releasing new versions to try to draw them in.
