The more you know the more realistic the story...

I might have to get on with trying to write my great novel. One day!

Well done on getting something published!Jason Hoffmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13037117085155837861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6470371997307119952.post-16544539053718442222013-01-03T19:11:33.307+00:002013-01-03T19:11:33.307+00:00Hi Jason, I agree ... story must always come first...Hi Jason, I agree ... story must always come first. The point I was really trying to make is that a historical author has to be as informed as possible before making these choices, otherwise they run the risk of making unnecessary mistakes. And of course what you say is quite correct; as I have discovered, somebody else will always know more than you do!

I must get round to reading Wolf Hall. Heard great things about it!Alex Roddiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12630306805747934102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6470371997307119952.post-73529429088729557552013-01-03T19:09:05.538+00:002013-01-03T19:09:05.538+00:00Alex

How much focus you place on the detail as opposed to the dialogue is a call you have to make.

The best historical fiction that I've read recently has been Wolf Hall. It's a great story because the characters are so important to the story, rather than the detail.

JasonJason Hoffmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13037117085155837861noreply@blogger.com
