The countdown is almost over

It's been quite a week. Since last Friday, I have written an article on vintage mountaineering equipment for UKC, corresponded with a number of individuals who have emailed me with offers of help and best wishes (including some that may yield useful fruit later on), and watched the visitor counter on my website climb and climb. I have received yet more wonderful feedback from my trusty advance readers. I have been building portions of code to insert into my site when the time is right, and I have been checking over the final version of the novel itself before it is announced on Sunday morning.

I've checked the ebook on my own Kindle 4, my Windows Phone, the Kindle Cloud Reader, and the Kindle Previewer. I sincerely hope no formatting errors (or worse, typos!) have survived this process but if so, I apologise and I would be very keen to hear of any errors you may find.

This will be my final post before Sunday morning, when I will make the announcement that the book is ready to download. I'm aware that Sunday isn't the busiest of days online so I'm not expecting a vast rush of sales straight away; I will make a second announcement on Sunday evening, and another on Monday and Tuesday mornings. After that I will stop posting daily, so don't worry, I wont be spamming anyone!

The book will be available to buy on Amazon Kindle for the low price of £1.99. I will need the help of my readers and fans to be successful, so if you enjoy the book please a) 'like' the Facebook page; and b) consider writing a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Both of these help me tremendously and I really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to send me encouragement and opinions already.

It's an exciting time for me personally, as I see a lifetime's ambition begin to yield results. Sunday the 21st of October is going to be a milestone in my career as an author, but it's only the beginning of what I have planned.

What can fans expect in the future? The Only Genuine Jones will be released in other ebook formats before the end of the year, and if all goes to plan a paperback special edition--with additional content--will be available early next year. I hope my second novel, Alpine Dawn, will be ready by the end of 2013.
